No bones about it, Ghost’s new album, SKELETÁ, has finally arrived. Following a whirlwind few weeks that saw the release of three singles and a few in-concert premieres, the venerable occult-rockers’ sixth full-length release — their first with newly instated vocalist Papa V Perpetua — is officially out in full.
The record had been teased in recent days by official streams of the sinfully swung “Satanized,” night-terrors-driven metal anthem “Lachryma” and, most recently, the soaring and hopeful “Peacefield.” If you’d caught Ghost on their spring run of dates across Europe, you also got to enjoy the sounds of SKELETÁ’s “Umbra” up close and in the flesh.
As previously reported, SKELETÁ is said to be the band’s “most unflinchingly introspective work to date,” with the lyricism of Papa V Perpetua (a.k.a. longtime Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge) delivering a series of “distinct individual emotional vistas.”
Now, you can absorb the full, 10-song studio recording as it was meant to be enjoyed — unbroken and sinfully loud. SKELETÁ is streaming now up above and on all major platforms via Loma Vista Records, and you can likewise pick up a copy of the album on CD or LP over in Revolver’s shop.
As for Ghost’s ongoing world tour, the group kicked things off last week in Manchester, England and they’ll next hit Lyon, France’s LDLC Arena on Saturday (April 26th). They’ll be traveling across Europe for another month, while a U.S. leg of concert dates begins in July. You’ll find more show details here.
