Hear DEFTONES-approved “death-pop” act VOWWS’ new song “Blood’s on Fire”

Australian-born/L.A.-based duo and frequent Deftones support act VOWWS make self-described “death pop,” and their latest single, the haunting “Blood’s on Fire,” more than lives up to that description.

Featuring co-production by Billy Howerdel (A Perfect Circle) and drums by Josh Freese (Foo Fighters, A Perfect Circle), the song provides a tantalizing taste of VOWWS’ forthcoming album, which will be their first for their new label Out Of Line Music (also home to Till Lindemann).

“[‘Blood’s on Fire’ is] the last song we wrote for the album, and the one that made the most sense as the first single,” VOWWS commented in a joint statement. “By the time we got to making this record, we had been working on a lot of different songs over such a long period, we were full of all this pent-up energy. It’s about an intense need to lose yourself in something, or someone, whatever, good or bad. Anything to get out of stagnation — we missed the feeling of being overstimulated, overwhelmed.”

In addition to dropping the new single, VOWWS have unveiled a string of European festival dates, with the promise of more dates to be announced.

7th June – Germany – Rock Im Park
