Call the search party off, Code Orange side venture NOWHERE2RUN is back on the grid.
Following a brief and cryptic press campaign — in which musicians Jami Morgan and Shade Balderose unveiled a missing persons-styled poster of themselves over socials, a link to LostInThisMaze.com where folks could “submit any information regarding the disappearance” and more — the production duo have formally put their dark electronic project under the spotlight via the release of debut EP Slivering the Senses.
The three-song collection was released today (October 18th) between the group’s own NOWHERE Recordings imprint and Pale Chord/Rise Records BMG.
“This partnership is what we’ve been searching for throughout our careers, a platform to spin our creative web beyond the internal,” Morgan said in a statement. “NOWHERE will embody what we as artists look for in a label: fairness and assistance.”
The EP features the previously released “Ant in the Afterbirth” single with Loathe vocalist Kadeem France, but also contains a pair of twitchily-beated collabs with alt-pop subversionist Siickbrain (the terror trappin’ “Floodlights”) and Scarypoolparty/Seven Hours After Violet member Alejandro Aranda (the bleakly EDM-ing “The Vanishing”)
You’ll find music videos for the new tracks above and down below.
As previously reported, Morgan and Balderose have worked under their NOWHERE2RUN guise in various capacities over the years, whether delivering Code Orange’s sci-fi dystopic “Autumn and Carbine” video in 2021, or providing industrial-heavy beatwork for the likes of rapper Backxwash.
