A divine awakening is upon us, and it’ll apparently be scored by the sounds of Cenobia’s next EP.
Ahead of launching a North American tour with PRESIDENT, the Aussie alt-metal mystery has announced that she’s signed up with Fearless Records to deliver an EP called Lethal Devotion. Though you’ll have to wait another month before you can feast upon the whole release, she’s unleashed a teaser track titled “Swallowed by the World.”
The song is Cenobia’s third track of 2026, and fourth behind the now-confirmed EP — following the “Devour Me,” “Throne of Want” and “Make Us Whole Again” singles.
Cenobia’s backed by detuned mood-rock hooks, a shred-tastic solo and a heavy groove, the vocalist alternating between cryptic croaks, angelic cries and a few screams. Described in a press release as both “her end” and “her beginning,” the song hints at disaster and drama (“Swallowed by the world I knew / Hollowed by the dream of you”) and is described as “exploring themes of internal conflict, obsession, and triumph.”
“Cenobia gifts you her fourth chapter,” she adds in a statement. “‘A divine awakening is upon us. Her eyes are yet to open.’ Devoured whole. A fractured rebirth. She was swallowed by the world, forged in trauma.
She continues: “Her quest to be made whole again draws to an end. Now, her divine awakening is upon us. She is Cenobia. She too will devour the stars.”
Cenobia’s Lethal Devotion is out September 18th via Fearless. The six-song release features the recent run of singles, which have already amassed millions of streams worldwide. You can pre-save the EP here.
Two weeks remain before the launch of PRESIDENT’s next North American tour. Cenobia is the direct support, while Showing Teeth will open the shows. The tour begins September 4th at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville Tennessee.
