Bloodywood have a spicy new single for you to sample. To celebrate the official announcement of the groove-heavy group’s forthcoming NU DELHI album, they’ve cooked up a pre-release preview called “Tadka,” which is all about India’s food scene.
The track is the third preview to arrive from the upcoming album, and it finds the act seasoning traditional dhol drum rhythms with kabooming nu-metal riffs.
Lyrically, it’s a multi-lingual breakdown of how everybody is “wrapped up in the flavor” of what’s being served up in five star restaurants and on the streets. As you might expect from a song about “hitting all your best taste buds,” foodie wordplay abounds (“The stove is lit / We chopped the bits”).
“‘Tadka’ is a metal tribute to Indian food,” the band explained in a group statement. “The word ‘Tadka’ is a cooking process in Indian cuisine where spices are heated in hot oil or ghee to create a more aromatic flavor… It’s about going the extra mile in the pursuit of a greater flavor.”
They continued: “This is a never-ending love story that connects an entire nation. From the fanciest fine dining restaurants to the simplest road side stall, everyone brings something magical to the table, but the undisputed champion of the cuisine is the Indian household kitchen. When you fuse these recipes and techniques with the love of an Indian family home, the result is unbeatable.”

“Tadka” follows Bloodywood’s recent “Bekhauf” collaboration with BABYMETAL, as well as their hometown anthem, “Nu Delhi”.
