FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY announce new album and fall headlining tour

Two years removed from Fit for an Autopsy’s Oh What the Future Holds, the American deathcore favorites have exhumed themselves for a follow-up release. Titled The Nothing That Is, the band’s seventh full-length is set to drop October 25th via Nuclear Blast.

As with earlier FFAA releases, the new album was produced by guitarist Will Putney (Better Lovers) at his his Graphic Nature Audio studio in Kinnelon, New Jersey. While no singles have yet to be offered up, a press release explains that the 10-song collection finds the band “exploring moodier textures and deeper emotions that add new power and dynamics to their already brutal and complex music, while also completely tuning out the ambient passing musical trends and the expectations of the outside world.”

The Nothing That Is is a full realization of our identity and intention,” FFAA explained in a a joint statement. “Every song on this record serves a purpose, and it feels like our most dynamic and powerful album to date. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”

Additionally, it’s noted that, thematically, the record is “filled with anger, frustration and crushing despair,” with songs like “Hostage” and “Lower Purpose” homing in on the horrors of humanity, while “The Silver Sun” apparently “reflects bitterly upon our uncertain future.”

It’s unclear when the first taste of The Nothing That Is will hit our ears, but FFAA have confirmed that they’ll be taking the songs out on the road this fall. A month-long North American headlining tour kicks off October 18th in Worcester, Massachusetts, and will find the band sharing the stage with Bodysnatcher, Distant, Sylosis and Judiciary.

Tickets are on sale today (July 23rd). You’ll find the tour details down below.
