Massachusetts metalcore trailblazers Converge have turned pain into power for their most personal album yet.
In Revolver‘s new Winter cover story, Converge vocalist Jacob Bannon reveals how his outfit evolved from scrappy hardcore upstarts into one of the most inventive, essential and enduring acts in modern heavy music. Tracing that journey also explains how the quartet arrived at the aching, aggressive sound of their 11th studio album, Love Is Not Enough.
Juggling the pressures of life with the physical demands of screaming in a hardcore band for more than 30 years, some people have asked the singer “How are you still doing this heavy shit?” Bannon’s answer is simple: How could he not?
Revolver’s new Winter Issue, featuring a stunning cover composite of live photos by Ben Pike assembled by Bannon himself, is available to order now in Revolver’s shop, where you can likewise pick up a colored vinyl variant of Love Is Not Enough and other releases from Converge.
Love Is Not Enough is due out February 13th via Deathwish Inc/Epitaph Records.
