Rejoice, for beloved hardcore institution Converge have just announced their very own music fest. Dubbed “Saddest Day 2025,” after the Massachusetts outfit’s mid-Nineties epic, the day fest will also feature sets from longtime pals and splitmates Coalesce, post-hardcore vets Touché Amoré and more
The Converge-curated event had been teased through the band’s socials over the past week, but was formally announced this morning (July 22nd). The inaugural “Saddest Day” fest takes place December 13th at Boston’s Roadrunner venue, and will play out as a full day of music and art.
On top of performances from Converge, Touché Amoré and Coalesce, the lineup also includes hardcore toughs the Hope Conspiracy, Philly punks Soul Glo, the mighty Year of the Knife, Stress Positions, and Wormwood. A “special guest” set is also slotted into the middle of the roster.
There will also be an art exhibit featuring work from Converge vocalist Jacob Bannon, painter/album cover specialist Thomas Hooper (Cave In, Yob), Nightswim Project and more, while various vendors will also be on location.
Pre-sales are up tomorrow (July 23rd) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET (and are accessible using the password: saddestday). General ticket sales go up the following day. More ticketing info can be found here.
In other Converge new, Bannon has been using his Substack page to provide updates on the currently in-the-works next full-length from his longtime band, though an ETA for their follow-up to 2021 collaborative LP Bloodmoon: I has yet to be pegged down.
That said, Converge and Coalesce did just co-release their archival concert album release, Live at CBGBs, digitally last month. The collection, comprising live material recorded at the famed New York City club back in 1996, also arrives physically August 8th via their Convergecult imprint.
