A few weeks after debuting onstage in Marilyn Manson’s current live band, Code Orange guitarist Reba Meyers has commented on linking up with the controversial shock rocker in an Instagram post.
Meyers has been playing concerts as part of Manson’s band since he kicked off a summer tour on August 2nd, and she also popped up in the newly released music video for Manson’s single “Raise the Red Flag.” Yesterday (August 18th), the guitarist weighed in on her latest gig over Instagram, and what it’s like to be part of the lineup as Manson “returns in awesome renewed form.”
“I’m proud to represent the growth, confidence, forgiveness, humanity, and change that comes with this, and to be up there with such talented motherfuckers. Everyone is aiming for growth and not stagnation. World needs that attitude right now.
She added: “Thanks to all the new peeps that have been showing love and support my way.”
Meyers’ comments were met online with a mixture of support and criticism.
Manson’s comeback follows accusations of abuse from multiple women, though the singer has been denying the allegations since 2021. Manson has been involved in numerous court battles due to resulting civil lawsuits, though many of those cases having been since settled or dismissed.
As previously reported, Manson’s current live band comprises Meyers and Tyler Bates on guitars, former Rob Zombie bassist Piggy D and ex-Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Gil Sharone. The group are currently bouncing between headlining performances and opening slots on Five Finger Death Punch’s current arena tour. You’ll find the remaining tour dates here.
As for what Meyers’ new gig means in regards to Code Orange’s status, that remains unclear.
