Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray has announced that the nu-metal veterans are taking a breather in 2026. Not to worry, though, as the metal vocalist explained that he’s set to celebrate both that band and his Hellyeah supergroup (which notably featured Pantera’s Vinnie Paul) at an upcoming show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The singer had been teasing the announcement over socials before confirming the April 24th performance at Sin City’s Backstage Bar and Billiards, which is being billed as Gray’s “30 Years of Madness” show. An earlier Instagram preview merged references and visual cues for both Mudvayne and Hellyeah with the tagline, “Sometimes you’re done with the past, but the past isn’t done with you.”
“In this past week since I posted the teaser for this I’ve heard it called Hellvayne, Mudyeah, but I call it keep my ass off the couch this year and have a first time hang with all of my oxygen wasting hellions,” Gray explained in a new post today (January 23rd).
He added of the solo show’s origins: “Mudvayne is taking a break for 2026, but I just can’t do that. Music, creating, playing are the wells that I draw my happiness from so I need to keep going.”
Gray added that on top of performing songs he’d cut with Mudvayne and Hellyeah, he’s “sure there will be some story telling too.” He noted that the show takes place the same weekend as the Vegas installment of the Sick New World fest, “so if you’re bored the night before come on by and hang out with us!”
Gray’s “30 Years of Madness” show will also feature an opening set from rising rocker Kami Kehoe, whom Revolver profiled for our Winter Issue and teamed with for her first-ever vinyl release.
Last year, Mudvayne staged a 25th anniversary tour around their landmark L.D. 50 album, and likewise delivered two new songs — “HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE” and “Sticks & Stones” — that popped up on a limited-edition 7-inch. Mudvayne currently have no live dates scheduled.
As for Hellyeah, Gray hasn’t performed any of that band’s songs in seven years.
