Architects are officially back. Coming off a pair of surprise singles over the past year, the Brighton, England-formed metalcore veterans have announced a new full-length is finally on the way. Their The Sky, The Earth & All Between is out February 28th via longtime label Epitaph.
News of the record arrived today (November 19th) alongside the premiere of a heavy-yet-melodic, bounce-fracked new single fittingly called “Whiplash.” A video for the track involves a post-apocalyptic clash with the police, fiery band performances under bridges and in the back of cop cars, and an engrossing immolation scene during an epic back-end mosh section.
“Whiplash marks the beginning of a new era for Architects,” drummer Dan Searle said in a statement. “It is a song that speaks of tribalism, of a deepening chasm that lies between human beings based simply on opinions and beliefs. It gave us the opportunity to explore these concepts in a way that we haven’t before and for the first time in a while it gave us fuel to write something truly ferocious”.

The Sky, The Earth & All Between marks the 11th full-length release from the veteran Architects, but likewise the first since longtime guitarist Josh Middleton exited the project in 2023.
The album was produced by former Bring Me the Horizon member Jordan Fish, and features last year’s “Seeing Red” single, as well this past spring’s “Curse.” The record likewise features guest spots from rising nu-metal figure Amira Elfeky (“Judgement Day”) and electro-punk duo House of Protection (“Brain Dead”).
A press release further notes that the album finds Architects “once again set to push the boundaries of modern heavy music,” while when it comes to “Whiplash,” Carter revealed in an interview that he and the rest of the band thrive when they sound extra-aggro.
“I think Architects at their best is me being really pissed off,” he told the NME. “That’s something we’ve really locked in, our unique thing [is that] nobody sounds quite as pissed off as I do when I’m yelling. That’s been apparent since I was a kid — I’ve always been yelling, I have a potty mouth. You have that character throughout, which helps lead to the intense nature of the song. I think we had visions of Korn and Limp Bizkit at Woodstock ’99 when we were coming up with that breakdown.”
