Killswitch Engage have spent much of 2024 celebrating their 25th anniversary, but now, to close out the year, the Massachusetts metalcore trailblazers are shifting their gaze to the future. To that end, the band just dropped a killer new single, and their first song in five years, “Forever Aligned.”
The first taste of the group’s forthcoming ninth album, This Consequence, “Forever Aligned” is an old-school rager complete with thrashy riffery, melodeath guitar harmonies and a massive sing-along chorus. Blast it above via YouTube.
Killswitch Engage are the subject of a recently released Revolver collector’s edition telling the 25-year story (so far) of the group — from their humble beginnings to the dramatic lineup changes to their rise to the top of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal movement — through new interviews with vocalist Jesse Leach, guitarists Adam Dutkiewicz and Joel Stroetzel, bassist Mike D’Antonio and drummer Justin Foley, as well as former frontman Howard Jones.
The 100-page deluxe ad-free magazine also features a Killswitch Engage family tree, lists of their greatest songs and some of their biggest musical heroes, and an in-depth look back at their milestone album, Alive or Just Breathing. Thicker than a standard issue of Revolver, the collectible magazine features embossed type and UV coating on its cover, as well as all-access photography throughout.
The Killswitch collector’s edition comes in two alternate covers — a band cover with photography by Travis Shinn, and an illustrated cover featuring artwork by the group’s own D’Antonio, a.k.a. DarkicoN design.
In addition, Revolver has teamed with Killswitch for exclusive colored vinyl pressings of five of their albums (a selection handpicked by the band) and exclusive merch including blacklight poster, skate deck, pint glasses and more.
