Type O Negative’s third studio album, Bloody Kisses, was the Brooklyn band’s breakout album, which achieved gold and platinum certifications thanks to its hit singles “Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare-All)” and “Christian Woman.” The album presented crushing, emotionally raw gothic metal steeped in big riffs and sample-heavy keys and laced with frontman Peter Steele’s alluring, acerbic and often-confessional lyrics.
