Although in 2001 SHELTER planned to break up after their comeback hardcore record "When 20 Summers Pass" the legendary band from New York City belt out another record titled "The Purpose, The Passion." While Porcell left the band to start a family, Ray "Raghunath" Cappo moved to Los Angeles to study martial arts and nutrition and to become a yoga instructor and nutrition consultant. Ray, as the only original member, felt he had one more album left in him, which resulted in the release of "The Purpose, The Passion."
With the help of the Swedish multi-instrumentalist Supergrass and the drummer Dave DiCenso (heard on SHELTER's "Mantra" as well as on various CRO-MAGS albums) Cappo recorded "The Purpose, The Passion." This album has 16 pop-punk tracks with Cappo's usual spiritual and uplifiting lyrical message. The album’s hard-hitting punk-rock sound pairs perfectly with Cappo’s catchy melodies which stick in your ears.
The completely remastered version of "The Purpose, The Passion" is now available on vinyl for the first time in over 20 years with completely redesigned die cut cover with two covers to choose from. Exclusively available through End Hits Records and for streaming worldwide!
