Quicksand’s self-titled debut EP was a shot across the bow of the NYHC scene when it dropped via Revelation Records in 1990. Far from the raging onslaught of frontman Walter Schreifels’ previous bands Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand took a slower, groovier and more atmospheric approach, colored by shades of Jane’s Addiction as well as 7Seconds. The presence of future-Deftones bassist Sergio Vega only adds to the must-have status of this post-hardcore classic, available at our shop on limited-edition clear vinyl.
