Queens of the Stone albums are always measures in contrast, but Josh Homme and his killer band of desert-rock misfits Jekyll and Hyde themselves to great lengths on 2007’s eye-opening Era Vulgaris. While full of sleek and sexy rockers like “Turnin’ On the Screw” and shag carpet make-out anthems like “Make It Wit Chu,” Queens still go for the jugular with a to-the-point viciousness on “Sick, Sick, Sick” — perhaps the band’s most compellingly noisy single ever.
