A grand emo-glam masterpiece, The Black Parade is a concept record where My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way sings as “The Patient,” a figure who contemplates triumph and trauma as he’s dying from cancer. The album brings the big theme together with rock-and-rolling solos, globe-conquering pop-punkhooks and tearfully astute, magnetically-sung passages from Way. Featuring their signature “Welcome to the Black Parade” and the darkly anthemic “Famous Last Words,” MCR’s most enduring album has been slabbed on exclusive “Concrete Grey” vinyl for its 20th anniversary, and arrives with updated artwork.
