The Melvins and Napalm Death have announced Savage Imperial Death March (April 10, Ipecac Recordings), a true full-length collaboration featuring members of both bands, not a split release. Named after their joint tours in 2016 and 2025, the album marks their first studio project together under the shared moniker. Recorded at the Melvins’ Los Angeles studio, the album was created as a 50/50 partnership between Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover alongside Napalm Death’s Barney Greenway, Shane Embury, and John Cooke, with all parties praising the process as pure, unfiltered creative chaos.
