Description
There’s a unique intensity to Megadeth’s 1986 sophomore full-length, and that might be because the recording studio itself became somewhat of a battlefield. While Dave Mustaine and Co. cooked up expertly thrashing classics like Peace Sells’ title track and “Wake Up Dead,” there was a ton of drug-fueled inner strife within the ranks — drummer Gar Samuelson and guitarist Chris Poland were turfed from the lineup shortly after its release. Nevertheless, Peace Sells is a priceless Eighties metal artifact that comes draped in apocalyptic, frame-worthy artwork from painter Ed Repka.
