Led Zeppelin’s sixth album is a staggering display of rock and roll inspiration. The band’s towering double LP found them returning to Hampshire, UK’s bucolic Headley Grange to cut a bunch of new tunes, including intensely hypnotic, symphony-assisted stomps like the immortal “Kashmir” and the panic-funking “Trampled Under Foot.” After realizing they had just three sides of music, they dug up a few unreleased treasures to fill things out — like the brawny “House of the Holy” and elegant acoustic instrumental “Bron-Yr-Aur.” It all fits seamlessly together as one of Zep’s most vast, varied and majestic affairs.
