Description
Bricks Are Heavy, and so is L7’s third studio LP — the Los Angeles quartet’s 1992 major label debut mercifully didn’t dilute their metallic and punky approach at all. While it does technically feature the bubblegrunge-adjacent confection that is their biggest hit, “Pretend We’re Dead,” the scraping vocals guitarist Donita Sparks injects into more mean-mugged missives like “S**tlist” and “Wargasm” keep things plenty abrasive and bristly, while co-guitarist Suzi Gardner brings gravelly vocal menace to her cowbell-clomping “Monster”. Produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins), Bricks Are Heavy has been repressed on deluxe gold vinyl and repackaged with alternate artwork.
