The steady rise of Iron Maiden in the early Eighties transformed the UK outfit into not only one of metal’s most arena-dominating forces, but a pop-cultural juggernaut. All-energy anthems like “Two Minutes to Midnight” and “Aces High” find the band firing on all cylinders, while the nearly 14-minute “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” is an epic and moody heavy metal masterpiece. A truly worship-worthy release from Maiden, remastered in 2015 and presented on classic black wax.
