Just like legendary screen villain Michael Meyers, filmmaker John Carpenter returned to the Halloween franchise for the much-loved 2018 reboot — though this time just to deliver the score. Made alongside longtime musical collaborators Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, John Carpenter delivers synth-based chills and dread-inducing ambiance, and notably revisits the eerie Halloween theme as a minimal-wave shiver of five-on-the-floor drum tension and psyche-pounding piano motifs. Expanded as a 45-cue epic on double-wide, “Bone White with Orange Splatter” vinyl, and featuring updated, Meyers-profiling artwork.
