Before their untimely disintegration earlier this year, Every Time I Die were on a creative tear, writing much of their best work in the last decade of their career. Ex-Lives, their 2012 opus, was the start of a creative rejuvenation for the Buffalo bruisers. These songs are as urgent, personally gripping and politically incisive as anything Keith Buckley ever howled, and there are also so many twisted melodies and deliciously sludgy riffs to grasp onto throughout its tracklist. This is ETID at their best.
