Issued in 1987 between metal classics Master of Puppets and …And Justice for All, The $5.98 E.P. – Garage Days Re-Revisited is Metallica’s breezy-spirited salute to some of their favorite NWOBHM and punk bands. This includes a ripping take on Diamond Head’s “Helpless,” plus the band’s shock-celebrating medley of Misfits’ “Last Caress” and “Green Hell.” Recorded following the passing of bassist Cliff Burton, the bite-sized effort introduced new four-string-slinger Jason Newsted into the lineup. A quick bit of headbanging fun, the 5-song E.P. had been long out-of-print on its own for years before being repressed by Metallica’s Blackened Recordings in 2018.

TRACKLIST:

  1. Helpless
  2. The Small Hours
  3. The Wait
  4. Crash Course In Brain Surgery
  5. Last Caress / Green Hell
