Pulled from two hometown shows in Birmingham at the tail end of 1997, Reunion finds the original Black Sabbath lineup running through some of heavy metal’s most iconic and genre-defining hits — from “War Pigs” to “Paranoid” to “Sweet Leaf” and more. It’s a massive-sounding concert LP full of totemic Tony Iommi riffs, big-time wails from Ozzy Osbourne, juggernaut rhythms from Bill Ward, and low-slung bass lines from Geezer Butler. Spread across three slabs of vinyl, Reunion also includes deep cuts (“Spiral Architect”) and two sinister studio tracks (“Psycho Man,” “Selling My Soul”) that marked the first time Sabbath’s O.G. foursome had recorded together since the Seventies.
