It’s official: They’re bringing pickle back.
Following their respective collabs with Don Broco and Spiritbox, Canadian hard-rockers Nickelback and rapper Megan Thee Stallion have joined forces — along with Chester the God-damned Cheetah, no less — to promote the reintroduction of Cheetos’ Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle flavor.
A frankly unexpected ad campaign features Nickelback and Megan Thee Stallion teamin’ up to deliver a pun-centric revamp of the former’s iconic “How You Remind Me” single. The commercial sets it up that The Stallion is a fiend for the Cheetos flavor, desperate to get another bag of the limited edition snackfood.
From there, a bat-shit bonkers series of events take place including but not limited to: Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger revamping the “Remind Me” lyrics to reflect that they got a big stack of bills to hit this; the two acts slapping on cheetah masks and staging a heist at the high-security Cheetos factory, in order to uncover that spicy dill flavor; flipping a punk-spiked semi-truck full of contraband, and covering a city in Cheeto dust; and Thee Stallion riding a surfboard atop all that irresistible powder.
Of the collab Megan Thee Stallion told Billboard that she’d been a fan of Nickelback’s omnipresent chart hit since she was a kid, further explaining of jumping on the redux with bars about staining one’s hands with savory red dust: “I know it sounds crazy and it looks crazy, but when you put it together, it’s, like, ‘Wow, I did not know my two worlds needed to collide like this.’”
