The surviving members of Vimic — the hard-rock group co-founded by late Slipknot/Murderdolls member Joey Jordison — will be reuniting this fall for a concert celebrating the life of their late bandmate, as well as a successful Kickstarter campaign created to release their long-awaited album, Open Your Omen.
A press release confirms that Vimic will be hitting Los Angeles, California’s Teragram Ballroom on October 3rd to perform material from Open Your Omen, the collection Jordison and Co. had recorded all the way back in 2014. The night will also feature an opening set from Jordison’s onetime Murderdolls bandmate, Wednesday 13.
It’s added that the Kickstarter campaign the group started earlier in the spring raised over $95,000 to press up Open Your Omen on CD and vinyl.
As previously reported, Open Your Omen had been teased by four singles: “Simple Skeletons,” “She Sees Everything,” “My Fate” and “Fail Me (My Temple).” The record had been scheduled to be released in 2018, though those plans shifted following the passing of producer Kato Khandwala (The Pretty Reckless, Pop Evil), and the album was left in limbo.
Following Jordison’s passing in 2021, the Jordison Family Estate spent years trying to secure the rights to the music (the record was to have been issued by Universal Music Enterprises/T-Boy).
Tickets to the upcoming Vimic reunion gig go up for sale this Friday (June 6). Proceeds go towards the Joey Jordison Charitable Fund’s partnership with Broken Strings, an Iowa-based a non-profit that provides musical instruments to children in various school districts.
