Coming off the handful of previews from Turnstile’s intensely anticipated NEVER ENOUGH album, the Baltimore, Maryland hardcore favorites played a hometown show over the weekend to highlight new tunes, Glow On favorites and more.
The show took place on Saturday (5/10) at Baltimore’s Wyman Park Dell. While it was a free outdoor show, organizers were likewise raising donations to benefit health care for the homeless.
Turnstile’s set began with the live debut of NEVER ENOUGH’s wavy-toned title track, and they later capped the evening with concert premieres of the record’s second and third singles, the jazz-chorded and jammy “Seein’ Stars” and the manically hardcore-paced “Birds.” In between, they played a bunch of Glow On songs (“T.L.C.,” “HOLIDAY,” “MYSTERY”) and brought it back to the early days with cuts from 2013’s Step 2 Rhythm EP (“7,” “Keep It Moving”) and more.
The 19-song set also faced technical difficulties, and was delayed for a bit after a speaker was knocked down. While Turnstile displayed their signature energy, the crowd popped off hard through the night, as evidenced by the steady stream of stage divers.
Turnstile later posted a full-set video of the show, which was filmed by Noah Haycock and features a lo-fi, vhs-dub aesthetic. You’ll find the full concert up above, while fan-shot footage can be seen down below, along with the setlist.
As previously reported, NEVER ENOUGH sees release June 6th via Roadrunner Records and can be pre-ordered on vinyl, CD and cassette at Revolver’s shop. Turnstile’s latest set of songs is likewise being presented as visual album, which premieres at the Tribeca Festival on June 5th.
