Florida-formed sludge-pop pounders Torche have announced their first show in nearly three years. Following an extended hiatus, the band make their way back to the stage this September at a UK gig alongside Cave In.
The thus-far one-off show was announced this morning (May 23rd) by both Cave In and Torche. The concert takes place September 10th at London, UK’s Electric Ballroom, halfway through Cave In’s European tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of their Jupiter album.
So far it looks like this is the only Torche gig on the books.
Torche had initially wound down their prolific, 18-year run in the fall of 2022 while out on the road supporting Meshuggah. Earlier that year, currently California-based founding guitarist-vocalist Steve Brooks revealed in a since-deleted Instagram post that the tour would be his last with the band.
“We’re a few months away from the last tour I’m doing with Torche,” he wrote at the time. “We’ve been so very lucky and went far beyond what I imagined. I just don’t have it in me to keep this going living on opposite sides of the country. Much love to my band members and everyone that supported us these 18 years!”
Soon thereafter, the band confirmed that they would not continue without Brooks.
Torche’s last album was 2019’s juggernauted, bomb-tuning-explosive Admission.
