TOOL’s ongoing European tour brought the prog-metal psychonauts over to London’s O2 Arena last night (June 3rd), where the band leaned into a lysergic, mind-melting array of favorites for their U.K. fans.
While TOOL kicked things off with the punishingly guitar-trilled fury of 10,000 Days’ “Jambi,” nearly half of the 11-song setlist pulled from 2019’s Fear Inoculum, including the latter record’s title track and drummer Danny Carey’s percussive showcase “Chocolate Chip Trip.” Diving again into the back catalog, the night closed out with Ænima alt-metal anthem “Forty Six & 2,” marking the first time TOOL have tackled the song this tour.
From Maynard James Keenan stalking the stage wearing Joker-esque corpse paint and a sky-high hairdo, to the rest of the band locking into a heavy, hypnotic groove, photographer Ed Mason was there to capture TOOL in action — check out some of his standout shots below.
