The Acacia Strain are calling — will you accept the charges?
Coming off the diametrically divergent one-two punch of 2023’s STEP INTO THE LIGHT and failure will follow, the longtime deathcore practitioners have announced plans to put out a solitary, yet no doubt punishing, new LP this fall. Titled You Are Safe From God Here, the record is being previewed in advance by the ultra-heavy first single “A CALL BEYOND.”
The new song lurches into action with slow-smashed menace, but quickly ramps into a chaos-stirring swell of blast beats and piercing, dissonant guitar noise. Above the fracas, vocalist Vincent Bennett hollers about how he’s spiraling out of control. The track is on streamers now, but can also be seen in the player up above.
As for the rest of You Are Safe from God Here, the group noted in a joint statement that the record is “unapologetically the Acacia Strain.”
“It’s angry, it’s sad, it’s us,” they further clarified. “We made a record that made us feel uncomfortable. We hope it makes you feel the same way.”
The 12-song You Are Safe From God Here is said to sport elements of sludge, doom, death metal and hardcore, while Bennett’s lyrics explore “the bleak landscapes of misanthropy, nihilism and existential dread.” The Acacia Strain also tapped Brody King (God’s Hate), Colin Young (God’s Hate, Twitching Tongues) and Blackwater Holylight’s Sunny Faris for a handful of guest spots.

You Are Safe From God Here is due out October 24th via Rise Records, and an exclusive vinyl pre-order on limited-edition colored wax is up over in Revolver‘s shop, along with a handful of earlier Acacia Strain releases.
