UPDATE: System of a Down have officially doubled their fun for 2025, adding second dates to their stops in East Rutherford, Chicago and Toronto. You’ll find the newly updated tour schedule below.
It’s not too often we get to see System of a Down onstage these days, but the alt-metal icons have announced they’ve got at least three huge stadium shows on deck for 2025 — and they’re pulling out all the stops, inviting Avenged Sevenfold, Korn and Deftones to join them.
SOAD — Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan — officially announced the trifecta of live appearances today (December 9th), and it all starts with an August 28th appearance at East Rutherford, New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, which will feature a supporting spot from 7-string nu-groove legends Korn.
From there, System will make it over to Chicago, Illinois’ Soldier Field on August 31st to play alongside Avenged Sevenfold — notably, the latter’s M. Shadows hit X yesterday to point out that this will be A7X’s only U.S. show of 2025.
The last show takes place September 3rd at Toronto, Ontario’s Rogers Stadium, where SOAD links up again with Deftones, who’d they’d shared the stage with this past summer at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
All three shows will also feature opening sets from progressive instrumental favorites Polyphia and rising nu-gaze musicmaker Wisp.
Artist pre-sales are set to go live on Wednesday (December 11th), while general sales are up on Friday (December 13th). You’ll find more info here.
System of a Down will, at the very least, be playing one more show in 2025 than they had this year. The band made an appearance at last spring’s Sick New World festival ahead of their Golden Gate Park show.
