Currently Revolver cover stars and self-described “high-intensity interval-training band” Spiritbox headlined Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC last night (April 18th) and drowned the assembled fans in waves of metal and emotion.
Metalcore true believers Dying Wish and nu-gaze experimentalists Loathe opened the show, and they crushed, too, but the night belonged to Courtney LaPlante, Mike Stringer and Co., who were out supporting their critically acclaimed new album, Tsunami Sea. Their stunning 16-song set included a healthy dose of both fan favorites and fresh cuts. It also boasted guest appearances by Dying Wish’s Emma Boster (“Soft Spine”), Stray From the Path’s Andrew Dijorio (“No Loss, No Love”) and excellently named saxophonist Saxl Rose (“Crystal Roses”).
Photographer Dimitry Mak was there to catch Spiritbox in action — check out some of his standout shots below.
