Hear SPIRIT ADRIFT’s devastating new song “Eternal Celestial Energy”

After flexing his Type O-styled chops with gothy side project Neon Nightmare in 2024, Nate Garrett is back to getting his gloom on with longtime venture Spirit Adrift. If you’re set to receive, the band are coursing out their “Eternal Celestial Energy” via a new single of the same name, which they’re premiering in partnership with Revolver.

The track is a heavy-dirging stunner full of detuned gravitas and emotions-soaked vocals from Garrett. The low-and-meaty, crushingly melodic stomp has him screaming and crooning his way through a grave, heart-rending storyline (“I watch you waste away/Why can’t I take your place?”).

“I can’t speak too much on this song, other than to say it’s probably the heaviest thing I’ve ever written, both sonically and emotionally,” he explains in a statement, adding of recording the single, “It was extremely difficult to make, but hopefully it will resonate with people who need some catharsis.”

Spirit Adrift’s “Eternal Celestial Energy” can be absorbed in full via the player above, while the standalone single will hit digital music platforms tomorrow (March 13th) via 20 Buck Spin. It’s the band’s first original studio recording since 2023’s Ghost at the Gallows, though they’d issued the live album Hot & Heavy: Live in Tejas in 2024.
