Following a year of chart-climbing single releases, Shinedown have now confirmed their long-promised eighth album is on the way. Conveniently enough, the collection is called EI8HT, and they’re teasing the LP with a heavy rocker called “Safe and Sound.”
A press release confirms that the album drops later this spring, and includes their Opry-approved country cut “Searchlight”, as well as earlier 2025 singles “Dance, Kid, Dance”, “Three Six Five” and “Killing Fields.”
The latest single hurls itself into modern rock bombast, replete with heavy pull-off licks, throbbing beats and a fire-scorched solo. The song is full of boastful, FAFO energy, with Shinedown vocalist Brent Smith noting in a statement that the tune “is about reminding the competition what they are dealing with one by one.”

A press release adds that Shinedown have been working on the 18-song LP for over a year, with bassist Eric Bass handling producer duties. Smith relays that “without question as a band we pushed ourselves like never before.”
He adds: “Myself, Zach, and Barry are so honored to create, and work with such an extraordinary producer, engineer, mixer, songwriter, musician, performer, and band mate [as Bass].”
EI8HT is out in full May 29th. An exclusive pre-order for the double LP on “Sailor Blue” vinyl is available in Revolver’s shop, as well as an alternate pressing on green vinyl, CD copies of EI8HT and other Shinedown albums.
Additionally, Shinedown have announced their “Dance, Kid, Dance Act II” world tour, which includes North American and UK dates with progsters Coheed and Cambria, as well as shows with Black Stone Cherry, From Ashes to New and more.
