Following last week’s announcement that Ghost are heading back to the big screen with a new concert film, Papa V Perpetua and the rest of the occult-metal outfit have now sizzled up a trailer to tease the impending 2 Big 2 Rig.
As previously reported, the concert film features footage shot through the band’s “SKELETOUR” dates, specifically a pair of sold-out shows at Mexico City, Mexico’s Palacio de los Deportes that took place last September.
Unlike 2024’s RITE HERE RITE NOW, which expanded the lore of Ghost with dramatic scenes, 2 Big 2 Rig is being presented as a more direct concert film, one that mixes concert footage with behind-the-scenes moments of the band and their road crew mounting the massive gothic production.
The trailer begins with an onstage message to the crowd: “You have been chosen to partake in a ritual celebration the world has not seen. Welcome to a night you will remember forever.”
From there, we see the band rocking the Mexican arena, and we get to see a bunch of crowd members either dressed up in ghoulish costumes or wearing Papa-esque facepaint. “Is it too hot for you? You want to get hotter?” Perpetua says at one point, as the strains of SKELETA’s “Umbra” score the trailer.
We also see crew members dealing with staging mishaps, and one figure noting that the production may indeed be “too big to rig.”

The film will be shown on both traditional and IMAX screens worldwide for a limited global run, which begins August 26th. Tickets went up for sale today (July 23rd), and more info on those screening locations can be found here.
