The bloodletting has begun.
It’s been a longtime coming, but Tasmanian outsider avant-gardist Kim Dracula has finally delivered their first song of 2026, and it arrives alongside news that they’ve signed a new record deal with Rise Records. Merging alt-metal with gospel soul and more, the tune is called “Molecular Conversion.”
The single follows Dracula and In This Moment’s “Heretic” collaboration from 2025, and it finds the singer adopting a soul-searching, lonely croon while asking to be introduced to “God” (“I’d sure as shit like to meet him”).
The tune begins with chiming guitar hypnotism, barrels into an A Perfect Circle-esque groove, then upends itself towards a gospel-soul like break full of choir backups and max-blasted sax squeals. It keeps “growing, growing, growing” from there, culminating in a bestially bellowed breakdown
A video finds Dracula and their band mounting a stage performance of the tune on a gloriously grassy knoll. Blood transfusions abound on the field. They then pull the trigger with a twist ending that is explained to be the start “of an entirely new story in the Kim Dracula cinematic universe.”
It’s as-yet unclear what Dracula is building towards, but they wrote in a statement that we will “get to see the next chapter” soon.
Their last full-length was 2023 debut LP A Gradual Decline in Morale.
Dracula begins a European tour next week. They make it back to the U.S. in October for their “Haunted” collaborative performance with illusionist Criss Angel, which takes place at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada.
