System Of A Down saluted the late, great Ozzy Osbourne last night (August 27th) while rocking the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey — by performing their unique cover of Black Sabbath’s “Snowblind” in concert for the first time since 2002.
The cover occurred deep into System’s 26-song set — which marked their first U.S. show of 2025, and likewise was part of their two-night stand at MetLife, alongside Korn, Polyphia and Wisp. System had first begun performing their nu-twitchy take on the stony Vol. 4 classic back in the Nineties, and cranked off the cover a number of times during the 2002 edition of Ozzfest.
“There was one tour that never did more for System Of A Down, the Ozzfest,” guitarist Daron Malakian told the crowd. “We did a few Ozzfests, some of you are old enough that you were there… I want to thank Ozzy Osbourne. We want to thank Ozzy Osbourne.”
After leading the crowd through a chant of “Ozzy,” System then jump-started their “Snowblind.” You can see footage of the cover up above.
Last night’s set also featured a number of System’s own iconic songs — including “B.Y.O.B.”, “Suite-Pee,” “Aerials,” “Deer Dance,” “Chop Suey” and the night-closing “Sugar.”
They also played Hypnotize’s “Tentative” for the first time since 2015, and also incorporated elements of the Go-Gos “Our Lips Are Sealed” into their “Lonely Day,” and further tributed the Who by sneaking a touch of “Won’t Get Fooled Again” into their “Lost in Hollywood”

System and Korn make repeat appearances at MetLife tonight (August 28th), while later this week System head to Chicago, Illinois for two shows with Avenged Sevenfold, and then head up to Toronto, Ontario for a two-night-stand with Deftones. Polyphia and Wisp will open all shows.
