Alice Cooper and Judas Priest’s Rob Halford are showing us their holiday spirit this year. The two veteran frontmen recently contributed vocals to Rock for Children’s charity track “My Christmas List,” and that single has now been given a cute and Christmassy animated music video.
The song comes from Rock for Children’s Solid Rock Revival album, which came out in the summer and has since received a Grammy nomination for Best Children’s Music Album. The Rock for Children band is headlined by Alice Cooper, while the album also features appearances from Slash, RUN DMC’s Daryl “DMC” McDaniels and more.
“My Christmas List” is primarily sung by songwriter Dana Kamide, but Halford, Cooper and Brandon Jenner help out on the retro-rockin’ holiday number to lay out a wish list of rockets, submarines, pet raccoons and musical spoons. But then Cooper hits us in the feels mid-song with a spoken-word section about the true meaning of the season.
You’ll find the accompanying animated visuals — which find Cooper cosplaying as “Father Rock ‘N Roll Christmas,” and likewise include a woodland critter band led by a hell-bent-for-leather tabby cat — up above.
Proceeds from Solid Rock Revival will benefit the Norelli Family Foundation and the Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers youth program.
