See MEGADETH cover METALLICA’s “Ride the Lightning” live for the first time

Megadeth finally rode the lightning in concert.

Last night (April 26th), Dave Mustaine and the rest of his long-running thrash outfit gave their recent Metallica cover its live debut at the Movistar Arena in Bogota, Colombia, letting the worlds-merging Big 4 crossover flash before their fans’ eyes.

The cover, which appears on Megadeth’s recent self-titled final album and had been co-penned by former Metallica member Mustaine back in the Eighties, arrived 15-songs deep into the set that also staples like “Peace Sells,” “Tornado of Souls,” “Holy Wars…the Punishment Due” and more.

Megadeth locked in quick for the famous “Ride the Lightning” intro, while Mustaine subbed in his famous sneer.

This is your sign to flick the switch for ‘Deth. You’ll find fan-shot footage of Mustaine and Co. hitting “Ride the Lightning” up above and down below.

Megadeth will be playing a second show at Movistar Arena tonight (April 27th). Later this summer, they head off on a North American tour with with Iron Maiden and Anthrax.
