Linkin Park served up one of 2024’s spiciest comebacks, in the form of their FROM ZERO. Like that album’s mix of rock, nu-metal and rap-rock flavors, the band’s Mike Shinoda is a man of many tastes – and he’s shared what all he’d pick for his “Last Meal” in a new video from the Mythical Kitchen YouTube channel.
A new episode of Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals series finds Shinoda going toe-to-toe with show host Josh Scherer while discussing the finer points of food, his history with Linkin Park and more.
Throughout, they dish on a Linkin Park-themed cruller the host ate one time, appetizers Shinoda tasted while traveling the world, mortality, the legacy of late Linkin singer Chester Bennington, dressing up like a “blue rapping Smurf” at one of pre-LP outfit Xero’s first shows, the band’s new line-up and more.
When it comes to Shinoda’s food picks, the multi-course meal included a hearty ol’ ham-and-cheese sandwich from Dan’s Super Subs in Woodland Hills, California, a Manhattan cocktail, a Tsukemen ramen dish and the Shinoda family’s special “top secret” Karaage fried chicken recipe. The dessert included a vanilla latte and some Reese’s peanut butter cups.
You’ll find Shinoda and Scherer talking about all that, their thoughts on recipe “gatekeeping” and more via the video up above.
As previously reported, Linkin Park are kicking off another round of FROM ZERO world tour dates January 31 st at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros. The global dates run off-and-on into next November, and will feature opening sets from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Spiritbox, AFI and more. You’ll find the date details here.
Likewise, Revolver crowned Linkin Park’s FROM ZERO our Album of the Year for 2024, and recently published a special edition issue around the reunited rockers’ big return. You can order a copy of the magazine over in our shop.
