Linkin Park’s massive FROM ZERO world tour has been cruising through Europe the past couple of weeks, and last night (July 9th) the nu-metal legends picked up another stalwart scene singer to help them through one of their biggest hits. Specifically, Architects vocalist Sam Carter popped up to help perform Linkin’s debut single, “One Step Closer.”
The on-stage collab took place at Frankfurt, Germany’s Deutsche Bank Park, about halfway through their set. It all started off per normal, with guitarist-vocalist Mike Shinoda and vocalist Emily Armstrong singing through the harmonically groove-popped arrangement.
But then Carter does a walk-on during the second verse, which led Shinoda to shout out: “Make some noise for Sam from Architects.” As you can see through the fan-shot footage up above and down below, Carter takes a stab at the originally Chester Bennington-sung verse, but then the Brit brings his metalcore bark to the chorus.
Linkin Park’s next gig takes place tomorrow (July 11th) at Paris, France’s Stade de France. The FROM ZERO tour makes its way to North America by the end of the month, with that leg beginning July 29th at Brooklyn, New York’s Barclay’s Center.
