The Linkin Park reunion continues to pick up steam, with the returned nu-metal group having just premiered the second new song of their latest phase during a concert at the Barclays Arena in Hamburg, Germany last night (September 22nd). Coming off the heels of their “The Emptiness Machine,” the band have now officially unveiled “Heavy is the Crown.”
As you can see and hear in the fan-footage up above and down below, “Heavy is the Crown” seems to hit more of a classic Linkin feel than the pop-punky “The Emptiness Machine.” You get that straight out of the gate via a first-verse rap from guitarist-vocalist Mike Shinoda. New vocalist Emily Armstrong then rasps her way through an anthemic and melodic chorus, firing out “This is what you asked for, heavy is the crown.” She gets a good growl in during the bridge, too.

The studio version of “Heavy is the Crown,” which will appear on the band’s forthcoming FROM ZERO LP, is set to hit streamers tomorrow (September 24th). As for the album, which is Linkin Park’s first full-length since 2017’s One More Light and the death of frontman Chester Bennington, it arrives November 15th via Warner Records.
