Limp Bizkit kicked off a run of North American summer dates last Friday (July 10th) at the Ottawa Blues fest in Ottawa, Ontario, and they used the occasion to bring out a Canadian comedy icon: Tom Green.
A team-up took place roughly midway through the group’s 14-song set at LeBreton Flats Park, and Green — a man who knows his way around songs about sausage — hopped onstage to help them handle Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water’s “Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)”.
Decked out in a trucker’s hat and overalls, Green introduced himself on the mic by saying “Check the O.R.”, a reference to the song he’d rapped with Canadian hip-hop group Organized Rhyme in the early Nineties, years ahead of developing his cult-classic The Tom Green Show, which he initially produced in Ottawa.
Green shouted out his love for the band, shook hands with guitarist Wes Borland and then teased an upcoming interview between himself and Bizkit vocalist Fred Durst for his newest program, The Tom Green Farm.
And then they collectively put the bounce in the mosh pit through their performance of “Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)”. You can see for yourself up above.
Limp Bizkit’s next show is this Friday (July 17th) at the Cadott Rock Fest in Wisconsin, though they’ll soon play Creed’s landlocked Summer of ‘99 event, and they have headline appearances booked at Inkcarceration and Louder Than Life. You’ll find the full breakdown here.
