See KID BOOKIE’s fun video for pop-punky new song “Love Drunk”

Kid Bookie just released his new album, Songs for the Living // Songs for the Dead, and along with it, a new music video for standout cut “Love Drunk.” The song — which was written and recorded with songwriter-producer Tom Mitchener (Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes) — showcases the pop-punkier side of the U.K. rap-rock musician and multi-time Corey Taylor collaborator’s sound.

“This is a funny one,” Kid Bookie commented. “I came in the studio with Tom, and he probably expected me to come in and do some nu-metal, but I just picked up the guitar and hummed these lyrics, and he was like, ‘OK, so we’re making a fucking pop-punk song! Wicked!’ It’s not like I’m spilling my heart like in the other songs. It’s more just a feel-good song.

“The ‘Love Drunk’ video was fun, nothing overthought, and just the tone and mood of the song shine through in this cheesy, happy-go-lucky video that, for once, even your mum can enjoy.”

In addition to Mitchener, Songs for the Living // Songs for the Dead also features collaborations with Good Charlotte’s Billy Martin and Skindred’s Mikey Demus, as well as producers Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me the Horizon, Nova Twins) and George Perks (Enter Shikari, Skindred). It’s out now via Marshall Records and is available for order now.
