See JERRY CANTRELL play “Rooster” with DALLAS GREEN and GREG PUCIATO

Jerry Cantrell’s current arena tour already had the grunge god singing alongside Better Lovers’ Greg Puciato, but the Alice in Chains legend upped the ante last night (August 19th) when he invited Alexisonfire/City and Colour vocalist-guitarist Dallas Green onstage to do a guest spot on iconic AIC single “Rooster.”

The collaboration took place at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage at the end of Cantrell’s set, which had included a mix Alice in Chains songs and newer solo material like his recent “Vilified” single. “Rooster” closed out the 11-song set, and found Green walking onstage to strum his acoustic guitar through the moody Dirt epic.

As you can see through the fan footage up above and down below, Cantrell and Green both took turns singing the solemn verses, while Puciato power-howled through the staggeringly heavy chorus.

For his part, Cantrell clearly enjoyed the team-up. He later posted on Instagram that the Toronto stop had been one of the best shows of his current tour, and described Green as “total class.”

Green had previously performed alongside Cantrell during Alice in Chains’ 2019 tour, singing the band’s “Nutshell” through a series of shows in Ontario, Canada. Over the years, as City and Colour, Green has also recorded solo covers of “Nutshell” and “Rain When I Die.”

Cantrell’s current tour with Bush and Candlebox continues tomorrow (August 21st) at Holmdel, New Jersey’s PNC Bank Arts Center. You’ll find the rest of the dates here.

Cantrell’s forthcoming I Want Blood solo album, which includes guest appearances from Puciato, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and more, is out October 18th.
