The Smashing Pumpkins are currently opening for Green Day on The Saviors Tour, and they had a special surprise in store during their performance at last night’s show (September 25th) at Portland, Oregon’s Providence Park. Billy Corgan and Co. brought out Deftones frontman Chino Moreno to sing guest lead vocals on their Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness classic “Jellybelly.” The cut’s mix of heavy riffage and airy atmosphere is not far-flung from Deftones’ own music, and Chino not surprisingly sounded great singing it, just like he did when he joined the Pumpkins in New Jersey for two songs, “Bodies” and Gish’s “Snail,” in 2018.

The Pumpkins’ tour with Green Day wraps up at San Diego’s Petco Park this Saturday.
Next up for Deftones, the alt-metal titans will throw their fifth annual Dia De Los Deftones festival on November 2nd at Petco Park in San Diego. Headlined, hosted and curated by the band, the all-ages event also features IDLES, Sunny Day Real Estate (performing Diary in its entirety), Health, Paris Texas, Duster, Gel and Qendresa.
In 2025, Deftones will hit the road with The Mars Volta and Fleshwater for their first headlining tour in three years.
