Following the recent reveal of Body Count’s pensive and powerful “Comfortably Numb” remake alongside Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, Ice-T’s long-running metal band have now delivered an accompanying music video that likewise co-stars the guest guitarist.
Indeed, it’s Gilmour’s instantly identifiable, mile-wide vibrato we hear first on the track, so the video kicks off with the classic-rock guitar great sustaining saddened notes out of Fender Stratocaster. From there, we see Ice-T leaning into a recording studio mic to lay out his newly modeled bars about the problems we continue to experience on a global scale — war, famine, drug epidemics and more — and how we generally seem complacent in the face of it all.
The video is mostly done performance-style, but also interjects shots of people zoning out to war footage on TV, footage of health workers assisting famine victims, and more. You can check out the heavy visuals for Body Count’s version of “Comfortably Numb” up above.
As previously reported, the cover will appear on Body Count’s forthcoming Merciless LP, which has likewise previously been teased by the singles “Psychopath” and “Fuck What You Heard.” The album is out November 22nd via Century Media Records.
