Queens of the Stone Age are taking their Catacombs experience above ground and on the road.
The long-running desert rockers have just announced they’ll be undertaking a North American theater tour inspired by the stripped-down sounds of their 2024 performance from within the subterranean Catacombs of Paris.
The band’s “The Catacombs Tour” begins this fall with an 11-show run across the U.S. and Canada, and kicks off with an October 2nd performance at Chicago, Illinois’ Chicago Theatre. The shows are said to be in the model of the subtle, stripped-down arrangements of their July 2024 performance in the Catacombs — recently released to the public as the Alive in the Catacombs film and soundtrack.
Similarly, a press release notes that these shows will deliver “all-new arrangements crafted specifically for the occasion” which will be assisted by “assembled ensembles.” Despite the orchestral intimacy of the Alive in the Catacombs recordings, it’s added that these upcoming concerts “promise to twist the volume knob in both directions.”
Tickets for the North American run of The Catacombs Tour go up on sale this Friday (June 27th) at 10 a.m. local time on the Queens’ website. It’s added that you should dress accordingly for the night at the theater — because “you’ll want to look as good as the music is going to sound on this very special evening.”
UK and European dates for Queens’ Catacombs experience are expected to be revealed further down the line.
